How Interac casino deposits work

Almost every online casino that takes Interac does it through Interac e-Transfer, the same service you use to pay a friend back for dinner. The casino never sees your bank login. The sequence is short:

1. In the cashier you pick Interac and type an amount, say $100.
2. The casino's payment partner sends a money request to the email address or mobile number on your account, or shows you an address and a reference to send to.
3. You open your own banking app, find the request and approve it. The money leaves your chequing account.
4. Once the payment partner sees the transfer, it confirms to the casino and the balance appears, usually within a minute or two.

Two details decide whether it goes smoothly. The name on the bank account must match the name on the casino account; a transfer from a partner's account is normally refused and sent back. And your bank sets how much you can send: daily, weekly and monthly e-Transfer limits vary by bank and by account, and a first transfer to a new recipient may be held for a security check. If a large deposit fails, the limit is the first thing to look at, not the casino.

Interac casino payouts: why out is slower than in

A deposit is you pushing money. A payout is the casino deciding to push it back, and that decision is where the waiting is. The e-Transfer itself moves in minutes once it is sent.

Set up Autodeposit in your banking app and the last step disappears: transfers sent to your email land in your account without a security question. Without it, the payout sits waiting for you to click accept, and people regularly count that as the casino being late.

What delays a payout, in order of how often we see it

1. Identity checks not done. The first withdrawal triggers them. Upload ID and a proof of address the day you register.
2. An active bonus. Bonus money has a playthrough, and while it is running the cashier will refuse or hold a withdrawal.
3. A different method out than in. Casinos pay back to the route you funded with where they can, to stop money being moved through them.
4. A weekend or a holiday. Reviews are done by people, and the queue that builds on a Saturday is cleared on Monday.

Interac slots: what the phrase really means

There is no such thing as an Interac slot. People searching for one want a slot site where the money side is Interac: deposit from a Canadian bank, play in the lobby, cash out the same way. The slot itself does not know how you paid. What does change is the playthrough if you take a bonus, since slots usually count in full towards it while table games count for less, and the minimum deposit that unlocks the bonus.

Prince Edward Island has two land-based venues, Red Shores in Charlottetown and Red Shores at Summerside Raceway, and online play for Islanders is run through Atlantic Lottery, shared with the other three Atlantic provinces. At a venue, Interac mostly means your debit card at the bank machine or wherever the venue accepts debit; online it means an e-Transfer from your Island bank or credit union exactly as described above. Credit unions are common on the Island, and some set lower e-Transfer limits than the big banks, so check yours before a large deposit.
