Forty-nine squares, clusters of five

Sugar Rush 1000 is a Pragmatic Play slot released in 2024, a remake of the 2022 Sugar Rush. The board has seven columns and seven rows filled with gummy bears, jelly beans and hard candy. A win needs a cluster: five or more identical symbols joined edge to edge, up, down or sideways. Diagonals don't count. Winning candies explode, the board refills from above, and the game checks again.

So far, that's a standard cluster slot. What sets it apart is what happens to the square after the candy leaves.

One square, step by step

Follow a single spot, say row four, column three:

1. A candy on that square is part of a winning cluster. The square gets marked (it lights up), but no multiplier yet.
2. Later in the same tumble chain, another win passes over the marked square. It now carries 2x.
3. Each further win across it doubles the value: 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x.
4. Keep going and it reaches 64x, 128x, 256x, 512x, and finally 1,024x, the ceiling in this version. The 2022 original stopped at 128x.
5. When a cluster covers several multiplier squares, their values are added and the sum applies to that cluster's win.

In the base game, marks and multipliers vanish once the tumble chain ends. That's the crucial difference with the bonus.

Free spins: the board remembers

Three or more scatters start free spins, and more scatters mean more spins:

During free spins, marked squares and their multipliers stay for the whole round. A region of the board that got hot early keeps paying later. Two or three adjacent squares at 32x or 64x turn an ordinary cluster into a serious win. A board that stays cold for the first half of the round, on the other hand, rarely catches up.

That makes the round feel like building something, and it can go wrong in a specific way: marks spread across the edges while the clusters keep landing in the middle. Nothing you do changes where they land.

The numbers Pragmatic publishes

• Return to player: 96.53% for the standard version. Lower settings exist; the casino chooses, and the help screen tells you which one you're on.
• Maximum win: 25,000 times the stake, against 5,000x on the original.
• Volatility: rated high by the studio.
• Buy options: a regular free spins buy and a pricier enhanced one, where offered. Prices appear in the game at your chosen stake.

What Pragmatic doesn't publish is how often squares reach 1,024x. Our guess from demo play is "rarely enough that you shouldn't plan around it", which is not a statistic, just an honest impression.
